Assignment 18 - Kenna Miller

Before I finish High School:

  • Get into a great college
  • Go to a UK game
  • Obtain my driver's license
  • Watch every movie on my classics list
  • Write a Side by Side article
  • Successfully apply to NSLI
  • Attend a concert (preferably BTS)
Let's be real here: every academy kid's number one is getting into college. I'm not exactly sure what I want to study in college, since Asian Studies probably won't get me an actual job besides a K-POP vlogger on Youtube. I am not looking forward to doing college applications next year, since if I want to play more video games then I'm gonna have to dedicate some serious time to them. I am also not looking forward to splitting from all of my friends. I think this year I have reached a solid friend group, and it's going to hurt when I part from all of them. :(

Before I finish College:
  • Go to a party
  • Become fluent in another language
  • Get into a School of Foreign Service
  • Study abroad
  • Go to New York City
  • See Hamilton
For one night, I'd like to just forget everything and dance. It's been so long since I had a clear schedule for just one week. I constantly feel like there's a goal at the top of my to-do list that I have to erase. From the stories I've heard, college will be a total blast, with parties, freedom, and lots of ramen. To fulfill my college experience, I--the gamer, at home on Saturday nights-- will give up the world for a couple of hours and party.

Before I die:
  • Actually use fluent language
  • Travel/visit the 7 wonders of the world
  • Pay off mortage
  • Discover true love
  • Volunteer
I want to die knowing that I didn't waste my time and that I helped change the world to a degree, so volunteering is probably the most important goal. I'm trying to start that goal with reading with ESL kids at school right now, which I can expand by tutoring in another subject. Working with the Lexington Art League for the Woodland Arts Fair is fun, so I'll definitely continue helping with that in the future.
