Assignment 19 - Kassidy Stumbo

There is usually nothing worse than unwanted advice. But every now and then you get something amazing that sticks with you. My wonderful piece of advice came from my dad - and I'll never forget it. We were driving up the hill on the way back from a fundraiser for him. I knew he was exhausted and not in the best mood but he was still trying to act happy for me. We were discussing the usual - politics. I was all fired up of course. Dad and I were discussing people who thought they were better than the rest of us and he stopped and gave me a pretty great quote that will stick with me for the rest of my life. He told me "The only time you should ever look down on someone is if you're reaching down to help them up." Now whether he read it somewhere or stole it from someone I will never know - but it was one of my favorite moments I've ever shared with my dad and it made me respect him even more than I already did.
