Assignment 20 - How to Vacuum - Daniel Brewer

How to most effectively vacuum the family room at my house

Items needed:
1x: Vacuum cleaner

Process:

  1. Ready the room for vacuuming. This involves picking up any loose items on the floor, such as blankets we all use while watching the television, or Mom’s weird decorative pillows that aren’t soft like pillows should be.  Also, sometimes we fold laundery in the family room, so the laundry needs to be put away before vacuuming can commence.
  2. Obtain the vacuum cleaner.  This involves going to the closet under the stairs (my  house doesn’t have a basement, so this would be on the ground floor) and make sure the dust collection canister is empty.  Plug the vacuum into the electric outlet near the closet, because when plugged in there, the vacuum cord is long enough to cover the whole room.
  3. Start vacuuming. This involves going to the farthest corner from that electric outlet.  Starting there makes it so you don’t step on the freshly vacuumed carpet.  Basically, just move the vacuum cleaner over the carpet 2-3 times, then move on to another area. Be careful to not go over the power cord.
