The entire Lord of the Rings soundtrack, by Howard Shore- these beauties include the march of the uruk-hai and helm's deep and more. They are mostly instrumental and perfect to march to through the early morning fog. You almost become a part of the movie, and it's a necessity.
Runaway by Kanye West- From the opposite end of the spectrum, this song is easy to sing a long too and always seems to improve hikes. Don't know why.
Famous by Kanye West- more Kanye- it fits the "boys boys" mood on an early morning hike, and it is the perfect mixture of hype and laid back.
Megaman by Lil Wayne- everyone knows every single word so it's a pretty fun time when it comes on the speaker. Whenever it is playing, you can assume we are breaking every rule of hiking in silence, so good thing we get up really early.
God's gonna cut you down- Johnny Cash- there's nothing like some soulful Johnny Cash tunes to start a hike. This kind of music (many other Cash songs are featured) play in the early morning, as his music fits that foggy, peaceful environment.
