Assignment 12 - MacKenzie Varble

Matt the door mat is always being walk on, and he’s sick of it, but he doesn’t actually care enough to do anything about it. He is always pushed around by the other decorations of the house. They all claim that they are the best decoration of all, and they complement everyone else, saying that they are gorgeous (but not as pretty as themselves, obviously). Well, they complement everyone except Matt. They all think that they can tell Matt that he is worthless, and he will never be special, and that he is easily replaceable, and Matt believes them. He thinks he will never be anything more than a dirty piece of carpet. That is until the new table comes to join the house. She makes him feel special, and that he has a purpose in life, but there is always the thought in the back of his mind that he isn’t good enough. Then, a person came one day with a new door mat, and Matt was thrown out to the curb. It confirmed his theory of him being not good enough, and died knowing that all the things the other decorations said about him were true, and he knew he was worthless.
