Assignment 9 - MacKenzie Varble

There is a time for war, but it should be a last resort. The question of it being morally right depends on the situation, but most of the time it is the lesser of the two evils. In present times, governments have decided to follow the “kill or be killed” ideology more than ever before. Countries do have the responsibility to go to war though when a group or country has violently threatened their citizens. The group has crossed the line, and there is no other formidable option because nothing else would protect the people. There aren’t any alternatives that would work as well as war would for protecting the people. While some people may think that war should never be an option, the truth is that sometimes, there are no other effective alternatives. If a country wants to protect its people, war is necessary in today’s day and age.
