Assignment 15 - Victor Allison

Last week, upon being assigned to create 3 unique writing prompts, the three I came up with included the cliche and absolutely not unique questions of what superpower I would like to have and what would I do if I won the lottery. I assume that I was hungry at the time, because the product ended up being an essay about food, the exuberance and intense passion displayed in which bordered on pornographic. It didn't seem so weird when I was writing it. Anyway, I now intend to write about my third prompt, which asked what would I do if I had to spend a week in the wilderness anywhere on earth. I decided to choose this one as I have just began reading Blood, Sweat, and Tears, Bear Grylls' autobiography. After watching much of Bear Grylls' show, Man vs. Wild, the legitimacy of which being slightly dubious, I have decided that the place I would like to spend this week long period of physical and mental exasperation in New Zealand. Intrigued by the Lord of the Rings' landscape, I would retreat into the wilderness and into myself for this period in a cave with a bed of moss, spearfishing for sustenance. I would try and stay away from wild plants for food without 100% certainty of their safety, as I recently watched Into the Wild and it taught me a pretty good lesson if I ever should decide to abandon civilization and live in a bus in Alaska, which is a scenario that very closely resembles the theoretical citation i am describing.
