Assignment 14- Ian Schaeffer

The Schaeffer family Thanksgiving. Not very exciting, but jam-packed full of annoying traditions, mostly at the insistence of mom, whose first command of the day is a "family selfie". This excruciating tradition usually involves several minutes of agony as I watch  my mom hopelessly try to operate her Iphone. This year's photo even featured a selfie stick, a tool that directly appeals to people like my mom, who oohs and ahs at just about anything remotely interesting. Anyways, the family, which usually features at least one set of grandparents (the other set lives in Florida), sits down at about 3 for a huge meal of turkey, sweet potatoes, stuffing, and more. The food is prepared by Eliza Jane (what can't she do) and mom, and definitely fills the position of the best meal I eat all year. After stuffing ourselves full, the guys sit down and watch football, rooting and arguing over the teams and generally having a good time. Then, everyone parts ways and goes home, with fond memories of delicious food, and not so fond memories of watching my mom fumble around trying to manage her phone.
