Assignment 13- Kalin Combs

Assignment 13:
16 Things to say to your friend with anxiety*:
1. Just calm down.
2. If you don't learn to face your fears you'll end up with a lot of regret.
3. Oh come on. You're just overreacting!
4. You need to take more chances! Step out of your comfort zone! Try new things!
5. If you like that person, just tell them. You never know how they feel. What's the worst that could happen?
6. My friend/dad/aunt/grandma cured their own anxiety by exercising/eating healthy/seeing a therapist.
7. Yeah I get nervous sometimes too haha. *uncomfortable silence*
8. If you want to make friends, just approach people and talk to them!
9. You should raise your hand more in class. You're smart!
10. Just think happy thoughts and you won't get nervous.
11. You don't have anxiety! You're too outgoing.
12. Have you tried essential oils? Tea? Getting more sleep? Journaling? Talking to someone?
13. Are you sure you're not just stressed?
14. Did you have a bad childhood or something?
15. Don't be nervous!
16. At least it's not [insert name of a terminal illness or other severe mental illness like depression]!
