Assignment 15- Ian Schaeffer

What is something you try to excel at but never do?
I don't exactly put in hours of practice or even effort at all, but I play basketball enough to have a small degree of talent. Except I have none whatsoever. I cannot tell if it's a problem of coordination, but it is almost impossible for me to shoot accurately. On my I am Third church team, I joined my brother, Victor, and a few other guys in our positions as the team scrubs. Dribbling the ball isn't hard, although I can't claim to have "handles", and the running and jumping aspect isn't too bad, but the necessity of scoring and shooting undermines any chance I have at being skilled. Maybe the knowledge that I am absolutely terrible haunts me on a psychological level, causing me to perform even worse than I likely would already. Even hours in a gym would not solve my inherent lack of skill. Making matters worse, I am constantly reminded by my father of how skilled he was in high school. As of now, I will continue to blame my lack of skill on outside factors, rather than my personal coordination or ability.
