Assignment 9 - Hunter Cole

There is always a time for war. I am an advocate of piece like many people in America, but peace is unattainable. No one can truly see things the way that someone else can. ISIS members can only see their way. Its their way or the highway. They don't see killing people or destroying human relics as wrong, although most of the rest of the world does. Whatever someone can see, there will always be another person to oppose them. Most of Americans are Christians, and they see their way of life as perfectly reasonable, just like ISIS does their way of life. Even far into the future will there be conflicts, because without challenging an idea nothing can happen. Some may be small conflicts, but it takes only one big one to destroy everything. We may be at complete peace with ourselves and another race could not be and we could go to war. We simply can't refuse to go to war, we have to if we want to preserve ourselves. Most of the time there are no alternatives to war. Some people can't be reasoned with. ISIS may seem evil to most of the world, but to themselves they seem perfectly normal.
