Assignment 14 - MacKenzie Varble

My thanksgiving is typically pretty boring. It typically consists of me sitting in a back room of my grandmother’s house, leaving the room to eat maybe two things, then awkwardly sitting with my cousins who are all 5-13 years older than me, and they are all guys. It really isn’t fun being the only girl, and being the baby of the family. I am not a huge fan of the holiday for many reasons. It is just another day for me to be asked by everyone, “Do you know what college you’re going to?”, “Do you know what you’re majoring in”, or “Do you have a boyfriend yet?” The answer has been no, still is no, and will be no unless I say otherwise.  I am also told that what I want to have as a career is too impractical”, and I need to “have smaller ambitions”. I guess you could say that I am an outcast in my family, and there is nothing I can do to change that.
